OPERATIONAL DEFICITS
Donations and legacies, together with funds from Life Leases, have established a capital base which generates income that helps to offset the operating deficit for the care facility. However, after including all additional income a pattern of deficit funding has challenged us over many years.
Obviously this cannot continue if the field wishes to retain this wonderful facility. To provide 24 hour staffing 7 days a week in the care facility, together with other administrative and maintenance staff, involves the equivalent of 8-10 full time employed staff, even if the residence is only partly occupied.
If all our facilities were fully utilised and the independent living units were all Life Leased, this would go a long way towards covering the operational costs.
It should be noted here that The Heights is serving the whole Australian Christian Science community. We are very happy to provide sheltered care or unit accommodation, short or long term, for residents from all over Australia and New Zealand.
What can be done to reduce this operating deficit and ensure the ongoing service so beautifully provided at The Heights ? We can cherish it, we can use it and we can financially support it.
"We can cherish it
we can use it
we can financially support it"
